ZORG Ukraine Intends To Build Biogas Plant In Kyiv Region By October

(Ukrainian News, Ihor Yashkin, 07/07/2008) ZORG Ukraine (Kyiv) intends to build a biogas plant at a farm in the village of Velykyi Krupel (Kyiv region) by October.

The company made this statement, a copy of which Ukrainian News has obtained.

ZORG Ukraine and Ukrainian Milk Company signed a relevant contract on construction in February.

Cattle manure will be raw material for the biogas plant.

The gas produced by the plant will be burned in two co-generation plants.

As a result, the plant will produce 950 kWt/h of electricity and also 1.2 MWt/h of heat energy.

«The produced electricity and heat will be used for the needs of the farm and distributed to the utility line.

According to the contract, the plant will be built by October and commissioned by February 2009.

Total cost of the contract is UAH 18 million.

Besides, the company specified that ZORG Ukraine has intention to build five more similar plants for Ukrainian Milk Company by 2010.

Overall capacity of these six plants will reach 7.5 MWt/h.

Ukrainian Milk Company limited liability company is engaged in construction of state-of-the-art cattle-breeding complexes.

As Ukrainian News reported, in January, producer of sausages and sausage goods Vekka (Odesa region) signed a contract with ZORG Ukraine to build a plant for generating gas of the meat factory run-off, worth USD 4.6 million.

ZORG Ukraine was founded in 2003, its statutory fund amounts to UAH 3 million, it specializes in building biogas plants.
